Client records (the database and files) are stored in Canada, in a Canadian data centre in the Montréal area (ca-central-1 region). The application server that runs Nataly and the AI services are in the United States, and the consent form families sign says so. Where records physically live matters, to your professional obligations and to the families who trust you with their information.

Before any text reaches the AI, Nataly replaces the identifiers recorded in the client file with codes. The AI works with the clinical content, not your client's identity. Real names are restored in the answer, for you, the therapist.

We're precise about this on purpose. The clinical content itself is sent, since that is what the AI works on. A scanned page with no readable text and voice recordings go as is, and a name that is not recorded in the file, such as a nickname or a teacher's name, can be missed. We would rather tell you exactly what is protected than make a blanket claim.
Nataly's AI features are powered by Claude, the AI model built by Anthropic. Two things matter here:
Anthropic does not train its models on API data.
Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days. Requests are processed in the United States.
